Eudoxie Delli, SOW researcher, presented, together with the author Michel Blay, his new book Critique de l'histoire des sciences at the bookshop Tchann, 125, bd du Montparnasse, Paris, June 20 2017.
One of the main themes of Michel Blay's book is the relation of the birth of the modern concept of science to the theology of Western Christianity. Blay is criticizing the transformation of this science to a technical tool at the service of material civilization. What we call today science has nothing to do with the natural philosophy of the premodern period which consisted to the contemplation of nature, Blay affirms.
